Keeper designations can be made starting 7/1/2032. Starting in 2002, the keeper designation period will not close officially until there has been a 10 minute interval in which no changes are made to any team's keepers. However, no player may be added to the keeper list after the posted scheduled time. Players may be removed only from the keeper designations list after the scheduled deadline. This will discourage teams from removing good players from their keeper list at the last minute in order to draft them in free agent draft so they can extend contracts.
